Your Story Can Be An Essential and Powerful Part of Your Mission on Earth
Debby Efurd’s fondest memories as a child was spent with my grandmother for story time. Fairy tales, fables, stories from her youth … they swept Debby away to another world. As one story ended, Debby would beg for more.
When she was older, Debby fell in love with Bible stories and was eager to hear stories in Sunday School about Joseph or David or Moses. Then one day she heard the Greatest Story Ever Told and met and fell in love with the Main Character – Jesus Christ. That made all the difference.
Somewhere along Debby’s life journey, though, Debby forgot who was in charge. That’s when life turned upside down. Decades later, after many trials and triumphs, she turned control back to the One who provides hope and transformation.
Yes, stories can inspire, motivate, spur you to action … like an arrow right at your heart. Go Tell It! provides compelling stories of hope and transformation of lives who have each made a “180” by finding and sharing their voices. Whether your personal story revolves around one moment, one ministry, or a multitude of life events, the key is to point to the One who makes your transformation possible. All it takes is a willing heart and the courage to be honest … one story at a time.
Read information about the authorAfter enjoying and long and diverse career in the Dallas area in the public and private sector, Debby Efurd found her true calling in ministry in 2011 by offering abortion recovery Bible studies to the post-abortive. She has served as Director of Post-Abortion Support for Involved for Life (Downtown Pregnancy Center, Uptown Women’s Center, and Sonograms on Site) until 2013. In 2014, Debby co-founded and is President of the collective ministries of Initiative 180 and its program of abortion recovery, Peace After the Storm. Initiative 180 educates and increases aware¬ness regarding the largest demographic in our culture – those whose lives have been wounded from a past abortion. It is the belief of the organization that by lifting the veil of silence and shame surrounding a past abortion, those men and women who need help can find it. Initiative 180 and Peace After the Storm assist churches and com-munities to establish abortion recovery ministries. Debby educates others through speaking engagements at colleges, seminaries, churches, and organizations. She is active with various pro-life organizations and Operation Outcry.
Debby graduated Cum Laude from Dallas Baptist University with a B.A. in Counseling. She has written numerous articles published in LifeNews, Christian Post, The Baptist Standard, and is the author of Go Tell It! being released September 1, 2015. She shares much of her life at her blog, “The Second Mile” (debbyefurd.com).
Debby and her husband live in Duncanville, Texas, have three married children and six grandchildren. Debby attends First Baptist Church of Dallas and is active in the Sanctuary Choir and Women’s Ministry.
